Do I need to be in pain or have a diagnosis to benefit from Acupuncture?

No, this elegant medicine amplifies your body’s natural healing potential, so it can help anytime and be used to prevent pain and disease before it presents.

How does Acupuncture Work?

Traditionally speaking, through the insertion and manipulation of very thin needles (about the width of a hair), acupuncture adjusts our bodies essential substances (Qi, Blood, Yin and Yang) to create a desired result by balancing when there are too little, too much or restricted flow.

From a modern standpoint, there’s no single explanation as to why acupuncture works, but studies show that acupuncture affects hormones in the body. Through the increased release of endorphins there is an increased sense of emotional wellbeing, reduced inflammation and increased circulation. Acupuncture works with the central nervous system to help downgrade the ‘fight or flight’ response and increase the bodies potential to enter the ‘rest and digest’ stage. This explains why acupuncture works well for digestive conditions, anxiety, and depression. Acupuncture also works with connective tissues to relieve orthopedic pain conditions.

Do you accept insurance?

While I’m not an in-network provider for insurance, I can provide a receipt known as a superbill which has the appropriate codes for you to submit to your provider. Please check with your insurance provider to verify if acupuncture is covered and if there are certain conditions for which they reimburse. Your expenses may count as your insurance deductible and may be used for flexible spending/health savings accounts. FSA and HSA benefit cards are accepted.

What is your change/cancelLation policy?

There is a 24 hour cancellation policy. Patients that do not show up or cancel their appointment within 24 hours will be charged $75 (follow-up) or $100 (first time visit).
